How to Join VALottoPool

  • How to Sign Up:
    Please click on the link to join VALottoPool, and be able to participate in Lottery Pools available to members of VALottoPool. If you have any question about the new user sign up, please send an email to support@valottopool.com.
     

  • Benefits of Signing Up:
    As a member of VALottoPool you will be able to participate in Lottery Pools available at VALottoPool. You can create your own Private Lottery Pools, and invite friends and family from Virginia to participate in Lottery Pool with you and take a chance at multi-Million dollar jackpots for the games offered by Virginia Lottery. What are the services provided by VALottoPool

  • Public Pool Creation:
    Public Pools are created by the Admin of VALottoPool. The Public Lottery Pools are created by the admin members of the site who watch the demand in lottery pools. At any time, members will have 10-20 lottery pools to participate and purchase spots. If you have any question regarding the public pool creation, please send an email to support@valottopool.com.
     

  • Private Pool Creation:
    Private lottery pools are created by the registered members of VALottoPool. As a registered member, any user can create a private lottery pool, and invite friends and family members to join them in the lottery pool. Only invited members can participate in the private lottery pools. The person who creates a private lottery pool is called the pool leader. A pool leader is rewarded with additional spot in the lottery pool as a reward for creating the private pool. For details review the Private Pool Agreement. Any registered member can create a lottery pool, but the pool is not active unless the pool leader purchases at least one spot in the private lottery pool.   • Posting details of the lottery pool:
    As the lottery pool is closed, the tickets for the lottery pool is purchased by the VALottoPool team, and the details – Ticket Numbers, and the images of the tickets are available to review by the members of the lottery pool prior to the drawing of the lottery. If you have any question regarding the posting of details of a lottery pool, please send an email to support@valottopool.com.
     

  • Posting results of the lottery pool:
    As the lottery results are published by Virginia Lottery, the VA Lotto Pool team posts the results on the site. All the members will receive a notification if the lottery pool they are participating as a member wins any money. For lottery pool winnings of below $1,000 are split by the VA Lotto Pool team and credited to the user accounts. For winnings over $1,000 – VA Lotto Pool team member will contact you and discuss if they need additional information, and setup the way to collect the share from the lottery pool winning.   • Calculating Winnings of Lottery Pool:
    As the lottery pool results are posted by the VA Lotto Pool Team, the system calculates the winnings of the lottery pool based on the published ways to win the lottery by the Lottery agency. The winnings for all the tickets is accumulated, and that is considered the Gross winnings of the lottery pool.   • Splitting Winnings of Lottery Pool:
    The Gross winnings in the lottery pool are subjected to the VA Lotto Pool Handling fee, after deducting the Handling Fees, the Net Lottery Pool winnings are distributed among the members on a per spot basis. For Public lottery pools, the Net Lottery Pool winnings are divided equally into the number of spots for the public lottery pool. For Private Pool, the Net Lottery Pool winnings are divided equally into the Number of Spots + 1, the additional spot share is given the pool leader as a reward for setting up the private lottery pool. Each member is distributed the share based on the number of spots they have purchased in the lottery pool. Bank Transactions

  • How to Deposit Funds in VALottoPool User account:
    A registered user after logging into the VA LottoPool site using a valid user id and password can go the Bank page by clicking the button for (BANK), and select one of the options to deposit funds into their VALottoPool User Account. The minimum amount of deposit is $10. The available options to deposit the funds are a) Send a check to VA LottoPool at the given address, b) Wire Transfer the money (this is the fastest way to get money deposited in your account), c) Cash in a Gift Card, by entering a Gift Card Number into the system. The system will identify the funds associated with the Gift Card, and they will be added to your Lotto Pool account instantly.   • How to Withdraw Funds from VALottoPool user account:
    A registered user after logging into the VA Lotto Pool site using a valid user id and password can go to the Bank Page by clicking the button for (BANK), and select one of the options to withdraw funds from their VA LottoPool user account. All withdrawals are limited to maximum amount available in the user account. The available options to withdraw the funds are a) Via Bank Check – User can provide the amount of withdrawal, a check will be processed and mailed out of VA Lotto Pool in 3-5 business days, the withdrawal via Check is a free service, b) Via Bank Transfer – User can provide the bank information, and the amount of withdrawal and the requested amount will be processed and sent to the user within 3 business days – Withdrawal via Wire transfer will incur a $25 processing fees.   • How to Transfer Funds from a user account to another user:
    A registered user after logging into the VA Lotto Pool site using a valid user id and password can go to the Bank page by clicking the button for (BANK), and click on the button to transfer funds. On the Transfer funds page, user can transfer the funds in their user account to another registered user of the VA Lotto Pool site. User will have to provide the user information, and the amount of funds to transfer (limited by the funds available) in the current user account. Please note – balance transfer is a non-refundable process. Once the funds are transferred, the transaction cannot be reversed.   • How to review the transactions in user account:

    A registered user after logging into the VA Lotto Pool site using a valid user id and password can go to the Bank page by clicking the button for (BANK), and click on button for Review Transactions to view the user VA LottoPool user bank account transactions. The transactions are like, deposit, withdrawals, transfer, spot purchase, share of winnings. User has the option to go back to view transactions for last 30, 60, or 90 days. For a list of transactions older than 90 days please submit a request to support@valottopool.com.

 

Public Pool

  • Public Pool Creation:
    Public Lottery Pools are created by the VA lotto pool team members. If you would like to request creation of a public lottery pool, please send an email to support@valottopool.com.
     

  • Public Pool Closing:
    Public Lottery Pools are closed either when all the spots available in the lottery pool are taken, or the date and time of Pool closing is past – which ever comes first. If you have any question regarding a public lottery pool closing, please send an email to support@valottopool.com.
     

  • Public Pool Consolidation:
    VA Lotto Pool Administrator on their discretion will merge two or more lottery pools that are not sold out to create a large lottery pool. Lottery Pool consolidation increases the odds of hitting the bigger prizes.   • Public Pool Posting detail:

    As a public lottery pool is closed, the lottery tickets for the lottery pool are purchased by the VA Lotto Pool team, and the details of the tickets (Ticket numbers and Images of the tickets) are posted on the detail page of the lottery pool. A registered user and a member of the lottery pool will be able to view the details of the Lottery Pool postings.   • Public Pool posting results:

    As the results for the lottery games are published by Virginia Lottery, the VA Lotto Pool Team will post the results of the lottery games and pools in the VA Lotto Pool site. Using the results the VA Lotto Pool site will calculate the winnings of a lottery pool.     As the results of the Virginia Lottery Games are published the results are posted for the lottery pools. The VA Lotto Pool system calculates the winnings of a lottery pool.   • Splitting the winnings of Public Pool:

    As the VA Lotto Pool system calculates the winning for a public lottery pool. If the gross winnings of the lottery pool are over $0, the system calculates the win handling fees for VA Lotto Pool. After deducting the fees from the Gross Lottery Pool winning, the resultant amount is the net Lottery Pool Winning. The net lottery pool winnings are split in the number of spots in the lottery pool. Each member will receive their share of the winning based on the number of spots they have purchased in the lottery pool. Private Pool

  • Private Pool Creation:
    Any registered member of the VA Lotto Pool site can initiate the creation of a Private Lottery Pool. The Private Lottery Pools are open only to the members invited by the user who has created the Private Lottery Pool. The person who creates the Private Lottery Pool is called the Pool Leader. After logging into the VA Lotto Pool site using a valid user id and password, the user will click on the Create Private Pool button. There are 3 steps involved in creating of a private lottery pool. Step 1, the pool leader provides the general information about the lottery pool like, name of the pool, lottery event, number of spots in the private lottery pool. In Step 2, the pool leader lists the existing members of the VA Lotto Pool site that they want to invite to participate in the private lottery pool. Also the Pool Leader can provide the email addresses of the non-members of VA Lottery pool site that they want to invite to participate in the private lottery pool. Step 3 is the activation of the lottery pool. The private lottery pool is activated by the pool leader purchasing at least one spot in the private lottery pool. All the invited members and non-members identified by the pool leader will receive a notification to join the private lottery pool. Other members can log in and purchase spots in the private lottery pool. Non-Members will need to sign up, and become a member, deposit funds to their user account and then they can purchase spots in the private lottery pool.   • Private Pool Closing:
    Private Lottery Pools are closed either when all the spots available in the lottery pool are taken, or the date and time of Pool closing is past – whichever comes first. If you have any question regarding a private lottery pool closing, please send an email to support@valottopool.com.
     

  • Private Pool posting details:

After deducting the fees from the Gross Lottery Pool winning, the resultant amount is the net Lottery Pool Winning. The net lottery pool winnings are split in the number of spots in the lottery pool. Each member will receive their share of the winning based on the number of spots they have purchased in the lottery pool. Winning Jackpot

  • How will I get notified of Jackpot:
    VA LottoPool team will contact you with any and all winnings from the lottery pool, including the case when the Lottery Pool wins the Jackpot from the Lottery game. If you have question regarding the notifications when the lottery pool wins the jackpot, please send an email to support@valottopool.com.
     

  • How is the jackpot winnings split in Lottery Pool:
    The Winnings from the Lottery pool are split based factors like: a) Gross amount of winnings of the lottery pool; b) Total number of total spots in the lottery pool; c) Number of spots owned by the user; and d) Type of lottery pool (public or private). All the Gross winnings of the lottery pool are subject to the Win Handling fees by the VA Lottery Pool, the fees is deducted from the Gross Winnings, and the resultant Net Winnings are distributed among the members of the lottery pool based on the number of spots they have purchased on the lottery pool.   • Tax handling of Jackpot Winnings:
    In case of all winnings that are over the taxable limit, the winner information is passed on to the Lottery Agency who is paying the winners. Depending on the amount of winnings either the tax is withheld by the lottery agency or the winner will have the tax liability at the end of the year, when they file their tax returns. Lottery Agency will issue a 1099-G indicating the winnings and any tax withheld by the agency. For details on how to handle the taxes for your winnings, please contact a Tax Handling professional.   • Cash or Annuity Option:

    In case of Jackpot winnings, and the odds are better that you will win a jackpot as you are member of multiple lottery pools - The VA Lottery Pool Team will conduct a poll of the members who will vote for selecting the Cash or Annuity Option. The Weight on the votes are based on the spots purchased by the member. For example, if a member holds 5 spots, and votes for Cash option, and a member who holds 2 spots in the lottery pool and votes for Annuity Option. It will be treated as 5 votes for Cash, and 2 Votes for Annuity. The decision of Cash or Annuity is selected based on the voting from the members. In case of Tie - VA Lottery Pool Admin will select the option.
